Fantastic Voyage: Pre - visualisation

Pre-vis Part 1

Pre-vis Part 2

Pre-vis Part 3

After turning all of the drawings from the animatic into an actual animation, I found that the animation exceeded the time limit of 4mins. This was mainly due to the amount of content and the need for certain shots to last a certain amount of time in order to make sense. I considered deleting a few scenes, particularly the part where the ghost explains where eye colours come from. However I felt like my story was solid and educational and would suffer if any scenes were lost as it would mean it would not meet the criteria of a KS1 quality source of education.

After the realisation I contacted my tutor and asked how this would effect my grade. They informed me that the time limit is only their to prevent students from creating a massive animation which would steer them away from the brief. The time is there as a guide and as long as the animation does not suffer from the time limit it is ok. I feel as though my animation benefits from being the time limit it is as it provides a large amount of information, in a digestible amount of time.

By creating the pre-vis, it has helped me to see how the final animation will turn out. I feel like the information carries over well from the animatic and I am ready to start the real thing without any concerns.
