Minor Project: Project Start And End Goals
Today I was briefed on my next project, the Minor project. I have chosen to continue on from my premise, in which I designed a world which represented nature vs technology, and I will depict a fight scene between the two worlds.
Before the briefing and meeting with my tutor, my original plan for the end of the Minor project was to have all final models made and textured for the final animation, this included environment and characters. However after showing off my project to my tutor, I was told to take a step back from even thinking about modelling and firstly ensure my project is the strongest it can be in the planning stages. In particular a weaker area of my project is my animatic, which needs to contain a lot more animation in order to depict both characters movements in a fluid way. For this reason my tutor suggested a Gnomon tutorial for how to storyboard fight scenes to industry standards. I will research this in order to strengthen my animatic.
STORYBOARDING TECHNIQUES: CREATING A FIGHT SEQUENCE - REMBERT MONTALD
As well as this my tutor suggested that I first understand compositional techniques used in cinema to depict action, in my case fight scenes. In the future we will cover the fundamental's of composition, however for now I should gather fight scene which inspired my project.
I still intend to have both characters modelled for the end of the project however I now have a starting point to strengthen my project. I will now begin researching everything discussed.
