Major: Samurai Character Uv's + Texturing - Part 3
Today I continued to UV the Samurai Character. I decided to stop texturing in individual Substance files and instead wait so that I can bring everything together and do it all at once. This is so I can see how all the textures work together. I decided to do this now as I want to spend a lot of time texturing the head and want to see the final thing against the body.
In order to UV the head I watch the Jetpack Jones video tutorial to refresh my mind. It was very simply and just required a cut down the centre. I made sure not to do this in a visible place on the head, with the seam being hidden under the hair. I also had to cut the characters ears to release some of the stress on the UV's.
This was surprisingly the most complicated thing for me to UV as I didn't know how to go about it in a clean way. I still feel I made unnecessary cuts on the UV however tested it in Substance and found the UV did what I needed them to do. I feel the main problem comes from how I've modelled the pouch. In future I want to consider this when modelling.
I can now bring everything into Substance Painter and texture.
