Premise: Environment Design Ideas

In order to show the conflict between traditional and technology I have to create a world which can convey this effectively.  I have talked about how I want to take a more abstract approach to for the final version of my animation, however for now I wanted to take a look at how this world is structured in order to get a clearer idea of how the two worlds interact.  I completed several thumbnails which show the idea of a mountain surrounded by a overpopulated city.  I completed the drawing below in order to develop my skills at drawing cities buildings in perspective. The idea was not to focus on detail but solely perspective to see how buildings are placed in order to build up a city. The buildings closer are meant to represent buildings which may have been their in a modern day Japan. As the need for buildings had become more of a concern, and with the rapid development of technology, the buildings have become larger and larger.  I noted down ideas which would...

Major Project Submission Post: Reflective Statement + Art Of

Reflective Statement For Major Project Overall I am really pleased with the outcome of the animation. This is mainly due to me feeling that I was able to include everything I set out to do, all the way from the beginning of Premise. It has been a very long process, with different routes taken in order to bring me to the final product. At times I felt I had set myself a far too large goal to achieve and was unsure that I was able to complete the project within the timeframe. However I kept going and I am proud to say I completed everything to the best of my ability. I believe the key to succeeding in the completion of this project was good time management. Had I not completed certain section in time for the next then I would have run out of time nearer the end of the project.  At the end of the Minor project, I had completed the redesign of my animation story and characters and applied my ideas to create a Pre-viz which depicted the events of the second iteration of the anima...

After experimenting with texturing each individual part of the model, I decided that in order to recreate the character in a faithful way I would need to see everything in the same scene. Unfortunately I was unable to import all of the previously textured models into the same substance scene so I had to instead redo all of the textures I had done. Luckily I had only done basic textures so far to experiment. Today I got to the point which I had been at with all of the basic textures. As you can see some models work better than other in the scene, however I would have not known this had I not brought everything together. I ran into the issue that I had not smoothed one of the models as well as the UV's for the torso being out of the grid, meaning I could not texture properly. At first I thought this meant I had to start everything again however I found a solution to this problem online. You are able to make changes to the model in Maya and then update the model you are texturing in S...
