Fantastic Voyage: Making Charles Darwin For The Final Animation

 For the pre-vis I used a premade model in order to create Charles Darwin. Although Charles Darwin was not old when travelling to the Galapagos islands, this is the look he is commonly known for. Ks1 needs to know the information and so it is important for them to be able to identify Darwin as a key historical figure. For this reason he looks old throughout the animation even in scenes where he is mean to be younger. It helps the audience keep track of the character they are following, allowing them to focus on the information in the animation. 


I decided to redesign the character in the style of the animation.

Toolkit 2: Life Drawing 27/1/22

 Below is the first drawing I did on returning to life drawing from the Christmas break. I found it hard to get back into the flow of drawing a live model at first. I feel like the drawing conveys this. I also found that I was trying to rush to the final product before having a solid grasp of the pose. This lead to a drawing which was out of proportion.  In order to warm up we completed a drawing exercise were the model changes pose every 1 minute. This exercise forces you to not worry about drawing in detail and instead focus on the important lines to build the silhouette.  Below is a five minuet drawing  After the break we completed another set of 1 minute drawings in order to warm up again.  In the drawing below I tried to no think about the final product and instead focus on making sure the direction of the lines were accurate. Soundscape Project: All Original Sounds Used To Create Final Sounds

  This sound is the sound running water which I got from recording my tap. I put it on a low pressure to ensure it sounded like the natural falling of water to match the image.  I got this sound from recording the draining of water from my bath. I recorded the dripping of the water from the tap for this one.  This is the sound of running water I captured from recording my tap running. This is the sound of my microwave I captured to represent the sound of the void for the image.  This is the sound of a Coke can being crushed. This is meant to represent the cracking of the ice I got this sound by hitting two metal spoons together and is meant to represent something hitting the ice to make it crack. This is the sound of static recorded by changing the channel to FM on the radio.  This was recorded by running my finger along a spring connected to my microphone.  For this sound I recorded my electric toothbrush. Introduction To Maya: Camera Movements

 Today we learnt about the three different types of cameras which can be made in Maya in order to make capturing animation easier. The three cameras, camera rig, dolly rig, crane rig, are all based off of cameras used in the real life film industry and all have their special uses. The camera rig is much better than the basic camera found in Maya as it allows you to pan in specific directions. This makes capturing shots much easier as you can be more specific. The Dolly rig is used for capturing smooth shots while moving in a direction. This can be useful for scene which evolve a lot of movement. The crane rig moves along the X Y and Z axis, allowing you to smoothly capture shots between the three.  The pan shot was very simple and just required that we track two characters walking between rooms.
