Character Bible: Coming Up With Story Ideas

Below are a list of possible storylines for the story theme I have been given. I was trying to think of interesting stories which gave each character a deeper purpose. I can then reflect this idea in their design


Character: Superhero/Supervillain

Theme: Psychedelic Album Covers

Character Trait: Vain

World Time: 1960's

Scene (What's Happening): Saving/Destroying City

Action: His/Her Powers



Man From The Future 

Man is from the future. In the future the world relies heavily on a superhero. Man is jealous/obsessed of this and so makes/steals a time machine to travel back in time to when the superhero first appeared. Works out/already knows how superhero got his powers and so wants to become hero himself. This goes wrong which results in random kid getting powers. Man has to now use the kid to fight crime instead of himself, uses the opportunity to make himself famous. Man takes on the whole persona of the hero who he knows from the future and uses his knowledge in order to plan what steps he takes. As he is doing a bad job, he is breaking the timeline. Rips begin to show in the universe which is the psychedelic look. Time keeper appears and is after man in order to fix the timeline. He has a psychedelic aesthetic. Man is eventually sent back to future after world begins to crumble. It turns out the reason why the hero is so good at his job was because he had the man as his mentor. 

In order to distinguish the future from the past, I could make the past black and white. This would then contrast against the bright colour's of the psychedelic tears which begin occurring in the city. By the end the entire world is being invaded by bright colour's. The main character is colourful compared to the black and white world he has travelled to. 

Boy who turns into hero isn't very smart and so is easy manipulated. He believes that the man hero 



Clone Man 

Insanely smart man could create clone of himself. This is the better version of himself, he is smarter, better looking and genetically enhanced. Man raises child to adulthood until his body is strong enough to be able to transfer his consciousness into his body. 


Future Man Becomes Corrupt

Man is in the future where the worlds is ran by superheroes. As the superheroes have become bored of being too powerful, they start to get sloppy saving people and develop god complexes. Man notices this and swears if he ever got the opportunity he would kill the heroes and take over. Somehow gets the opportunity to go back in time, maybe this is one of the heroes abilities and he helps the man. Now that man is in the past he figures out how superheroes get powers. He then makes it his goal to kill all of the heroes as younger versions before their powers can fully develop. Now that he is the most powerful man he slowly becomes corrupt. The cycle could continue. 





SIGNIFICANT EVENTS WHICH OCCURED IN THE 60's

In order to establish a story which is grounded in the 60's, I have to have an understanding of what type of world the 60's was. I can then find ways of tying the story to these events in order to add more depth to the overall story.

  Reflective Statement For Major Project Overall I am really pleased with the outcome of the animation. This is mainly due to me feeling that I was able to include everything I set out to do, all the way from the beginning of Premise. It has been a very long process, with different routes taken in order to bring me to the final product. At times I felt I had set myself a far too large goal to achieve and was unsure that I was able to complete the project within the timeframe. However I kept going and I am proud to say I completed everything to the best of my ability. I believe the key to succeeding in the completion of this project was good time management. From Script To Screen: Investigating How Shutter Island Tricks The Audience

 In order to understand how to portray my character in a more believable way, I decided to look at similar stories in which the character is an unreliable narrator. A prime example of this is the film Shutter Island.  Shutter Island Plot Summary The film is centred around detective Teddy Daniels as he investigates the mysterious Shutter Island in order to locate a missing patient, Rachel Solando. Teddy is trying to deal with the murder of his wife and has reason to believe Andrew Ladus is on the island as well, the man who murdered her. As the film progresses so does the mystery of not only the missing patient but also the island itself. As Teddy continues his investigation he becomes more and more suspicious of those around him, to the point in which he turns out of control in an attempt to escape their capture. The film ends with the realization that Teddy and Andrew are one in the same and Teddy was submitted to the institute after murdering his wife. The guilt from his time served

Character Bible: Elliot Goh

  Main Characters Man from future  Names for character: Elliot Goh (E.GO)      Man is vain and has a lot of money. For this reason, I feel like he would spend a large amount of his money on himself. This could be by purchasing expensive accessories and clothing as well as spending it on his physical appearance (tattoos, Botox and hair transplant). His deepest desire is to be looked upon as a god, which is how he views the superhero who is protecting his city. He is very envious of the hero as he knows no matter how much money he has he will never be able to compete with the supernatural. His jealousy has corrupted his thoughts and he begins obsessing over the origin of the hero. He throws all of his money into researching superheroes and time travel and dedicates his life researching about every single sighting of the hero.  I want him to look as physically muscular as humanly possible, in order to get across the idea that this is a man who has everything and will try everything in ord
