Story Outline

Elliot Goh is a man from the future. He is very rich and so has everything you could want in life and is still not happy. He is very vain and wants nothing more in life then to be the superhero everyone looks up to in his timeline, AB-Normal. He uses his money to research time travel and pinpoints the time (in the 60's) in which the superhero first begins appearing, and attempts to travel their in order to steal the powers for himself, gaining the one thing in life he cannot attain through money.

Elliot uses time machine and arrives in 60's city at the exact point in which superhero gains powers. His time machine malfunctions and strikes a nearby boy (Joe Average), who gains the powers of AB-Normal. Elliot sees this happen and is devastated that he can never be the hero as he is the reason for their creation.

Elliot is now stuck in the past with no way of returning. He was unable to get his powers and due to him being in the wrong timeline, tears begin to appear in the world (this looks psychedelic), which represent the timeline breaking. Elliot decides to spent his time feeling sorry for himself at bars, while observing Joe's attempts at heroic acts which his newfound powers. However Joe is very bad at being a hero and messes up a lot. This causes Elliot to become frustrated as he believes he could have done a much better job as he has obsessed over it for such a long time. Elliot decides to seek out Joe and take the boy under his wing (as a reluctant mentor), posing as a superhero himself. He then uses his knowledge from the future to aid Joe in becoming a hero. He has study all of the events which have involved the hero and so knows a lot about the crimes which will appear.

The tears in the universe begin to grow larger, which begins to destroy the city. The audience is then introduced to the third character known as the Time Keeper. The Timekeeper is an unknown entity which lives at the end of time. It is their job to ensure the timeline stays in tact. The Time keeper acknowledges the anomaly in the timeline and so travels to the 60's in order to set things right. The heroes believe that the timekeeper is the reason for the tears as the patters are similar to what he is made out of. Elliot has studied all of the villain which AB-Normal has to fight, however does not recognise this one and so sees him as a bigger threat. The heroes confront the timekeeper. There is a long battle between the two heroes and "villain", which is set in the Piccadilly Circus in London. The Timekeeper uses his powers to transform the people and objects into Psychedelic weapons, all in an attempt to stop Elliot. Joe Average must rise up and finally execute his special move (sonic mega clap) in order to put a stop to the fighting. After the battle, Elliot realizes his mistake after finally talking to the Timekeeper and so returns back to the future, to his right timeline. Before leaving, Elliot hands his costume to Joe as a reward for finally becoming the hero he truly is. The reason why the hero (Joe) is so good at his job is because he got his training from his mentor, the Elliot. The experience humbles Elliot, who decides to use his wealth to help others rather than himself.

Main Characters

Man from future

Names for character: Elliot Goh (E.GO)

Man is vain and has a lot of money. For this reason, I feel like he would spend a large amount of his money on himself. This could be by purchasing expensive accessories and clothing as well as spending it on his physical appearance (tattoos, Botox and hair transplant). His deepest desire is to be looked upon as a god, which is how he views the superhero who is protecting his city. He is very envious of the hero as he knows no matter how much money he has he will never be able to compete with the supernatural. His jealousy has corrupted his thoughts and he begins obsessing over the origin of the hero. He throws all of his money into researching superheroes and time travel and dedicates his life researching about every single sighting of the hero.

I want him to look as physically muscular as humanly possible, in order to get across the idea that this is a man who has everything and will try everything in order to achieve his goal, however he still is not able to reach the same potential.

This character will need two different looks. A casual look, where they will be posing as a civilian and a superhero look. I imagine the casual look for my character will be an expensive suit. His superhero outfit will be based upon the current hero as it is his intention to take over from him. There will need to be a subtle difference between the two, maybe his outfit is pristine as it has never been warn.

Joe Average

In the future, the hero will be the physical embodiment of justice. They will be a superman-like figure who seems godlike. They are responsible for saving the world on numerous occasions and have been awarded with the title of world protector. They have a strong will and seem to always know what is right. However the audience will not meet this hero. Instead they will meet a younger, more naïve, teenager who has recently gained superpowers. Although they are bright, they are easily influenced by others and need guidance on what to do when they gain powers. They are not good at being a hero and so this is what motivate future man in helping him.

This character will need two different looks. A casual look, where they will be posing as a civilian and a superhero look. As a teenager I want Joe to look very average. There is nothing strikingly heroic about him. He is short and skinny, which becomes jarring for the future man as he cannot visualize how this kid is meant to transform into a better version of him. Due to his size, he is unable to fit into the outfit future man has brought with him (for himself). For this reason he will be wearing a cheap imitation of the outfit. When future man leaves, he is going to leave his outfit for Joe to grow into. I want there to be a reference to the future man in the design of the outfit. Something you could only recognize once the future man goes back to his timeline.

Time Keeper

The timekeeper lives at the edge of time and checks to insure the timeline remains intact. Although they are just doing their job, to the heroes they will appear to be an antagonist. The heroes will think this as the time keeper has the same psychedelic look as the tears which are appearing in the world.

The timekeeper will be made up of a combination of interesting shapes and patterns. They will have this appearance in order to be able to travel between timelines and survive without damaging the timeline. They will need to have a menacing look to their design, in order to make it believable that the heroes (and audience)  think he is the villain.

What to do next

1960's London

Investigate 1960's London in order to establish a location for the final battle. Consider the powers of both the hero and villain in order to help pick the location.

Look into popular 60's culture in order to influence the characters looks and personality.

Begin designing characters using research to influence the design.
