Toolkit 2: Introduction To Mudbox

Today we explored the pipline of working in Maya and then transferring the model to Mudbox.

Pipline - Model in Maya, UV and then take it into Mudbox

Mudbox works hand in hand with Maya and can be used to add additional detail to the low poly models made in Maya.

In order to make the bowl geometry I created a curve and then used the revolve tool in order to generate 3D Shape

Mudbox does not like triangles. For this reason I had to go back through the revolve menu and change the U to 80 and V to 25. This gave the model an equal edge, allowing me to delete every other edge which were making up the triangles.

Once this was done I had to UV the shape before sending it to Mudbox

Then experimented with the tools inside of Mudbox with the model.
